A member of Team 545 was accepted at MIT, CALTECH, STANFORD, PRINCETON, and HARVARD. He will attend MIT.

We can't break out USFIRST portion of scholarships and other aid, but his total is over $1,000,000. Yes, $1,000,000.

In his interview with Newsday, which was part of the article published during the Regional, he ascribed his success to robotics which focused his academic career in high school.

 

With additional scholarships yet to be announced, the amount of scholarships awarded to Long Island high school students is likely to grow. As a source of scholarships, this program surpasses Intel's International Science and Engineering Fair.
