2005/06 Summary
The 2005/2006 SBPLI-LI FIRST Lego League Tournament was held on January 22nd at Longwood High School. 27 Long Island teams participated consisting of 9 to 14 year-old children.
This year's challenge was called "Ocean Odyssey" and called for teams to research and present robotics technology solutions to help ensure the health, diversity, and productivity of the world's oceans for present and future generations.
The competition was judged in five areas: research and presentation; robot performance; technical mechanics of the robot's construction; teamwork; and gracious professionalism. The highest honor went to the team that best exemplifies the spirit and values of the program. Every participant received a medallion to commemorate his/her experience and dedication to the eight-week process.
